Coastkeeper Cleans La Jolla Shores

This Saturday

Coastkeeper Teams with Wells Fargo Advisors to Clean La Jolla Shores More than 50 Wells Fargo Advisors employees, family members will give back to the community by helping maintain the health and beauty of La Jolla Shores beach

WHAT: San Diego Coastkeeper, which protects and restores fishable, swimmable, drinkable waters in San Diego County, has partnered with the San Diego Market of Wells Fargo Advisors to host a beach cleanup at La Jolla Shores, the beach adjacent to one of La Jolla’s two Areas of Special Biological Significance. This effort is part of company’s efforts to better understand how the choices we all make directly impact the environment.

With over 29 thousand pounds of trash —or 1.7 pounds of trash for each of San Diego County’s 3.1 million residents—collected through Coastkeeper cleanup efforts since 2007, Coastkeeper recognizes that San Diego beaches still need our attention. This is no time to stop the momentum.

In addition to the significant contribution to the environmental and quality of life standards, these efforts have saved over $2.5 million to the county’s taxpayers. An Environmental Protection Agency report estimates the average West Coast city spends $.83 per person for beach and waterway cleanups.

WHO: Volunteers from Wells Fargo Advisors and San Diego Coastkeeper.

WHEN: April 19, 2014 from 10 a.m. - noon
