Living Better in San Diego

What is Mitochondrial Disease?  Not many people have even heard the name before. Mitochondrial Disease is a serious illness that can be fatal.  It affects so many people, many of whom are children.  On the show today to shed some light on the subject and to help raise awareness about the disease is the founder of the Mitochondrial and Metabolic Disease Center at UCSD, Dr. Robert Naviaux and founder of the UCSD Mitochondrial Research Fund, Christina Whaley.  Mitochondrial Disease has personally affected Christina and her family.  Also on the show this morning is Christina's best friend, Stephanie Maynard.
