Boys and girls from San Diego County and beyond will be participating in a youth soccer tournament next month that will raise money for Susan G. Komen For The Cure San Diego. Next to the US government, Susan G. Komen For The Cure is the largest funder of breast cancer research in the world. Joining us today to talk about the tournament and the fight against breast cancer is Kickin' It Challenge Director, Pam Bickle and President Emeritus for Susan G. May is Older Americans Month. The Senior Community Centers of San Diego help our seniors every day. They provide meals, homes and health and wellness services to thousands of local seniors each year. They are the leading provider of services to culturally diverse, low-income seniors in San Diego. There's a local non-profit organization whose mission is to promote social, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being through music. Since its inception in 2005, Resounding Joy has enriched the lives of thousands of people here in San Diego. Their music therapists have provided music therapy services to thousands of children and adults with special needs. They've been on the show before. The Center, in Hillcrest, provides direct program services to the many different facets of the LGBT community, including men, women, youth, seniors, families, the LGBT Latino community members and their families and those struggling with HIV and AIDS. They have touched the lives of thousands of people through their events, activities and advocacy. They've been on the show before. The YMCA has been around for years serving children, adults and families in communities all over the country, including right here in San Diego County. The Rancho Family YMCA, like others, is dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community by developing its youth and encouraging healthy and active lifestyles, as well as social responsibility. The Y's Healthy Kids Day is coming up later this month. I invited Mark Thompson, executive director of the Rancho Family YMCA, to come in and talk about the event and the programs and services his Y offers.

There's a local moving company that loves to give back to the community. They did it last year by helping veterans with "Movers For Military." Now they're helping San Diego moms. With Mother's Day around the corner, there are many moms living in women's shelters here in San Diego. Two Men And A Truck's "Movers For Moms" is collecting items for mothers and children staying at a local women's shelter to help make this Mother's Day special for them. San Diego County has its fair share of animal rescue services. Some rescue only a particular dog breed. Aztec Doberman Rescue is one of them. But, they do more than rescue Dobermans. The Aztec Doberman Rescue "Rescue Team," Carl Clayton, Pam Scholefield and Bryan Weaver, joins us this morning to talk about their program and to set the record straight on some of those Doberman stereotypes. Also joining us this morning is Bill Barr, who adopted a Doberman from Aztec. We'll find out what that experience was like.

When a child becomes seriously ill, there are many legal and financial problems that arise for the families involved. Luckily, there's an organization here in San Diego to help. The Professional Alliance For Children is a local charity, made up of legal and financial professioanls, that provide families with an ill child legal and financial advice. They are making a positive impact for these families by reducing legal and financial stress.
