Join Tim Pyles as he hosts the annual Battle of the Bands Contest at the San Diego County Fair.  An open rock-genre contest for all California residents is held on June 20, June 27 and July 4.  Contestants are judged on vocal and instrumental performance, stage presence, originality and fan reaction.  If you would like to be in the contest follow the guidelines below:

• The contest is open to California residents.

• Entrants will submit a CD with photo, or a video. A Fair committee will choose those who will perform at the Fair in the preliminary round. Attendance at one preliminary round, plus the finals if chosen, is mandatory.

• A parent or guardian, 21 or older, must accompany any entrant 17 and younger at each level of competition.

• Applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, May 23, 2008.

Join FM 94/9 at the Annual Vigilucci Beach Bocce Ball World Championship Saturday, July 12th at Dog Beach in Del Mar.  Enter your team here for the chance to play against Garett, Hansen, Tommy and others on the FM 94/9 staff.  There are three divisions: Men's, Women's, and Open.  All proceeds benefit the Boy's and Girl's Clubs of Carlsbad.  Sponsored by Tecate Light.
