PETSURG, a new pet surgery center in Carmel Mountain Ranch just opened and is offering services that cannot be found at your family vet. Owned by Dr. Diana Jones who has been caring for San Diego pets for 15 years, PETSURG is a unique surgical referral hospital for dogs and cats.
The surgery center PETSURG helps those who need an affordable option for pet surgery to complement what is offered by their regular veterinarian. Like human surgical centers, PETSURG is not a general practice nor is it a huge, expensive multi-specialty hospital. PETSURG has the technology and equipment of a much larger hospital in an intimate setting that comforts both pets and owners. Critical care and specialized surgeries such as joint surgery, abdominal surgery, plastic surgery, and cancer surgery are available. PETSURG also provides emergency services, overnight care, and transportation when owners can’t drive. The ER4PETS is open 24 hours 7 days a week at the PETSURG hospital to provide emergency and critical care.
Dr. Jones is excited to help those pet owners who can’t afford surgery for their pet and pleased to provide special surgical and emergency services in an area of San Diego where there are so many pets that need surgery and no specialty facilities.
Care credit, a healthcare credit card, is offered with 6 months interest free for all surgeries to help owners with financial limitations. She is working with rescue groups and the humane societies to help pets currently in foster care.
Dr. Jones completed a surgery residency at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. While completing the three-year surgery residency she obtained a masters degree in veterinary science and earned the Outstanding Resident Award. Dr. Jones has lectured, performed research, published scientific articles and been an assistant professor and Chief of Service at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Every year she completes advanced courses in surgery. She has also worked as an emergency veterinarian for nine years.
