5. The merch was EPIC

I mean, it was seriously awesome. Some standouts:

4. Someone tried to punch me in the face

"Tried" being the key word. I don't know man, people just go crazy for Our Last Night. They started covering "Shape Of You" by Ed Sheeran and this girl came in like a literal wrecking ball and plowed thru the crowd to get to the front where I was. I was dancing, having a grand time, but I must have been messing up the ~*video*~ that she was trying to get because her right hook came flying dangerously close to my face. She was not amused by my dancing and I missed the memo on the "no fun zone." But alas, my instict kicked in and I screamed, "GO AHEAD, HIT ME. I'M ONLY 16."

Needless to say, she calmed down a tad after that. Works every time.

3. I renewed my wallet game for the first time in 10 years

This was HUGE. I've had the same checkered Vans wallet for 10 years. I got it as a freebie at my very first Warped Tour ever back in 2007 and I finally laid it to rest this weekend. Now, we've solved one problem of me having a decade old wallet, but let us not forget the bigger issue at hand here--that I'm 24 years old and still using a velcro wallet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2. Some dude lost his shoe in a mosh pit...at NOON

WHAT A WAY TO START THE DAY, KIDS. I grogilly made it over to the Silverstein set (they were one of the first sets of the day at 11:25 a.m.), and just about everyone else was slowly waking up too, squinting real hard because the sun was being an ass. But there was one group of people who were already ready to go, dancing their hearts little hearts out, screaming at the top of their lungs. These are the special people I like to call "morning people."

A mosh pit of these "morning people" broke out toward the end of Silverstein's set at about 11:55 a.m. and one unlucky soul had his day ruined. In the middle of this pit, held up a shoe. One lonely shoe that someone must've lost in the midst of the mosh pit chaos. Poor Cinderella.

1. Hawthorne Heights pulled a kid on stage to play "Ohio Is For Lovers"

This was by far the coolest thing all day. There was a kid in the crowd for Hawthorne Height's set, holding a sign that said, "Let me play 'Ohio Is For Lovers'." And here's the kicker--they actually brought him on stage and let him play!!!

Now, when I say kid, I mean like 12-13 years old. And he seriously nailed it. In fact, there was a few times throughout the song that I forgot there was a preteen on lead guitar! And like honestly, how many people can say they got pulled on stage to play an iconic emo-era song to close out a band's set?! That kid is already way cooler than I'll ever be.
