She was diagnosed in July 2008 and went through months of Chemotherapy and 6Total Body Irradiation treatments. She had an umbilical cord blood stem cell transplant in Jan 2009. She was in remission for 1 year before being told her Leukemia was back. February 2010, she started another regimine of chemotherapy. This time it caused liver and kidney issues amongst a long list of other ailments. She received her 2nd umbilical cord blood stem cell transplant on April 26th. It "took" 22 days later. There was no bone marrow donor found in the entire world. She continues to recover, but it is never known if she will remain in remission. We can only pray that she does. Christina is 32 years old with a husband and 2 young children.
