International Surfing Day featuring the Endless Summer

Ocean Beach - Grassy area next to Veterans Plaza and the Santa Monica lifeguard station
Friday, June 20, 2014
It all starts at 3pm
On Friday, June 20th we’ll celebrate the 10th annual International Surfing Day with a free family-friendly event in Ocean Beach (on the grassy area next to Veterans Plaza and the Santa Monica lifeguard station).

During the day from 3-7pm, we will have our Surfrider Foundation booth set up, along with a local surf school who will be offering free lessons, and local surfboard shapers who will be showcasing their boards.

In the evening from 7-10pm, we will have a free outdoor screening of the classic surf film, the Endless Summer, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the film. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, towel, or lawn chair and watch the film from the grass. We will also have a raffle and popcorn by donation.
FM 94/9 and Car2Go will host onsite raffles for tickets to Jack Johnson on August 30th at RIMAC Field UCSD and Pepper & Dirty Heads on August 9th at RIMAC Arena UCSD.

Throughout the day, Wonderland Pub will also be featuring several of Karl Strauss' surf-inspired beers with a portion of the proceeds benefiting our mission to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches here in San Diego County!
